hmmm.

Feeling really incompetent.
I just feel really inexperienced still. We have to start getting models soon for assignments, and I just don’t feel ready. I don’t know if I have the confidence yet to bring other people in for a shoot because I feel like what I make won’t be good.

I’ve always had confidence issues, and I’ve always been really hard on myself when it comes to my work. I hope this feeling passes. I think I just really need to practice over winter break or something.

*sigh*

    Mike McCormack - Jennifer,

Don’t let your lack of confidence get you down. I think you’ll find that as your photography progresses you will start to have confidence in other parts of your life too (at least that’s what happened for me, as I was terribly shy before I picked up a camera).

You have a lot of talent & imagination on display in your galleries on Flickr. I was very impressed w/your work in Provincetown and White Lake State Park. I also thought the ‘Radio City Bokeh’ shot really stood out, as well as the beautiful “breaking up line” photo. Oh, and before I forget, the “Give me back my life” shot from White Lake is a real gem (wish I could claim that one for myself!). Excellent portraits as well, including the “self” on 11/10/09.

Keep up the great work. Don’t worry about the mistakes or bad shots one bit. Your passion for photography will eventually see you through them. Look forward to viewing more of your images!

      jbakos31 - Mike,
Thanks for the compliments and words of wisdom. I really hope that with more practice my confidence will go up, I am also really shy and it gets tough sometimes but hopefully it will get easier.

      Thanks again,

    Deb - Jen –

We all have confidence isues at some point in our life….and even when they go away, they know how to sneak back in and bite us in the butt! Especially when we are down or not feeling our best.

As you get older, you’ll realize the things that you think matter, no longer really do matter and the things that you never gave a thought to…..are the important ones. Family, health, love and friendship.

You have a talent, go out grab the world by it’s nose and keep on running…..don’t stop, don’t look back, run faster. Grab every opportunity that comes your way. Some will be the right ones, others won’t but if you don’t try, you will never know.

    Love
