Hi Everyone,

I really want to be shooting more this year and this is the start! It’s the beginning of updating my portfolio and working toward a few different things. For one, I’ve begun to learn a bit more about food styling. I’ve observed little tricks and quick things that food stylists do on shoots, but in the last few weeks I was able to actually assist some one which was great. For my food photography, styling is very important. I think I have a good eye and taste for what looks right, and to be able to do some basic styling on my own will be a great thing for me to have when I’m working on my own (and on a small budget).

Now that I have a little more free time, I’m going to use it wisely. I’ve set a bunch of goals for this year and hope to complete them. Yesterday I chose a soup to try to make and photograph and I think the result was pretty decent, and tasty!

I got the recipe out of one of my favorite cook books: Power Foods from the editors of Whole Living Magazine. It’s all very healthy but delicious!

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Hi All,

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe another year has gone by. Every year seems to pass faster than the last one as more and more opportunities arrive and I get busier and busier. I wanted to post some photos from 2012 that I hadn’t shown on here yet and put a little color into the cold winter we are experiencing right now.

2012 brought lots and lots of weddings! I was able to assist a few new photographers this year and I learned a ton from each of them. I was also able to get a few shoots in for different companies and restaurants which was very exciting. I already have a bunch of weddings booked for this year as well as a clearer vision of the direction I’d like my photography and vision to go. I am looking forward to all that 2013 will bring and I hope I will be blessed with as much beauty, experiences, and have as much of a blast as I did last year! (Hopefully more traveling too!)

The following photographs were taken from weddings I assisted with Joe DiMattia, Melanie Haney, and Russell Caron. Huge thanks to them for having me as a second shooter! Hopefully more to come!

The food photography is from a shoot I did for Kashmir Indian Restaurant in Salem, NH. If you love indian food, theirs was really good! Go check it out!

Enjoy and have a great year!

I was able to spend some time in Southern Vermont, camping up in Northern NH, and hanging out with my family for my younger brother’s high school graduation.

There’s nothing like spending time in beautiful places surrounded or accompanied by good people and just being who you are and doing what you love. Even though the weather was a little iffy at times, we made the best of it!

Here are some moments from the last week or so….

Welcome back for another addition to the monthly blog circle I am part of. Incase you are new to my blog, every month we have a new theme we follow and create photographs using that theme. Then we post to the next person’s blog and eventually it works in a circle! This month’s blog theme was Earth Day and I decided to document something I’ve been working on for the past couple months.

A few months ago I became really interested in gardening and wanted to have my own veggie garden this year because fresh produce is the best and tastes even more amazing. I hate how a lot of our produce comes from Mexico and California, only because by the time it gets to us here in NH it isn’t fresh and barely lasts in the fridge. Another thing I was unhappy about was the amount of biodegradable waste we were putting in the trash, so I decided to start my own compost.

I started reading all kinds of articles online and in magazines about starting my own garden. The internet is an amazing tool when you are learning something new. I read how to make a cheap compost bin and started gathering any waste from our meals at home (minus meat and dairy) and began to throw them into the compost. Since then the bin is half full and filled with all kinds of stuff! With our green waste there is also soil, dead leaves, and grass clippings which are needed to keep the decomposing process going. I feel a lot better knowing that this will be used to help my garden grow and keep the cycle going in a healthier way.

I then built a couple raised beds, filled them will soil and planted a few early/cool weather veggies. Most of my seeds will be planted in late May because who knows what could happen in New England! I also picked up some tomato plants, as well as mint, lavender, rosemary, and cilantro.

I’m sure some of you have noticed that back yard farming has become more common, which is great! I think local and fresh produce is an important thing and I hope it keeps becoming more popular!

Of course we also make sure we recycle and try as best as we can to make less of an impact on the environment, but there is still so much we could be doing! I encourage everyone to try to start something new and better for the planet we live in!

As always, I hope you enjoy the imagery and make sure you head to Michelle Heath’s blog to keep following the blog circle!

Hi everyone! I recently became a part of a monthly blog circle between a group of Southern New Hampshire Photographers. Every month we have a new theme we follow and create photographs using that theme. This month it was fittingly “Your Favorite Recipe”. The first thing that came to mind for me was Spanakopita, a Greek dish that I’ve been eating basically since I was born haha. I am half Greek and at family gatherings this dish is guaranteed to be there. Eventually of course I began making it myself and for my friends and family. It’s definitely a favorite and very easy to make! However, the recipe that I wrote below is from memory, so if you want to make it, I suggest you do look up some other recipes online for a little help incase I didn’t cover anything. This is how we’ve made it for years, and it tastes fantastic, but feel free to make your own variations and as always, I hope you enjoy the photos!

To keep moving through the blog circle and to check out many other talented photogs from the area, head on over to Kristen Reimold’s blog!

Hey Everyone!
Here’s wishing you all a Happy Holiday and hope you are enjoying it with the ones you love. I know I certainly am. This year was a great one and even though it had it’s ups and downs as every year does, I’m happy to say that I learned a lot and know that I’m right where I need to be. The year began with a new adventure in California and many new experiences to follow. I feel as though I grew up a lot in those six months and learned a lot about myself. I learned that even though I was having a good time and exploring a new and different place, I really felt happiest when I was close to my friends and family. They are what matter most to me and I couldn’t see myself being so far from them, so I made the decision to come back. I don’t see myself staying in New Hampshire forever, but I would like to stay in the New England area. It’s my home and the relationships I keep with the people I love are what I enjoy most. With that said, I am so incredibly thankful to have the amazing friends and family that I have in my life. I don’t know where I would be with out them and their support. I know I wouldn’t have as many laughs or as much fun, that’s for sure!

Thanks to everyone who made this year enjoyable and fun!

Finally some food photos. I hadn’t done any food photography in months and since we were having a Christmas party, I photographed some of the food we made. I hope you enjoy! Happy Holidays!

Wow, Hello!
It’s been far to long since I’ve posted here. Long story short, I came back from California, went through kind of a long phase of no inspiration or desire to shoot anything, then all of a sudden I was inspired and ready to shoot again, so here we are. I’ve done 3 more weddings, a couple of senior shoots, a few food shoots and a bunch of shooting for myself in between. This summer is nothing how I expected it to be, but it’s okay because I’m still learning and growing.

I have a lot to show you, but for now I’m going to show you images from my week long trip in Stowe, Vermont. I went with my family and even though the weather was really on and off, it was such a fun time! I love spending time with my Mom and brothers, we can be ourselves, joke around, and be crazy but still have serious discussions. It’s safe to say the main reason I came back home was to be closer to the people I love the most. I can’t imagine life with out them.

Sappy stuff aside, we had a great time going to farmers’ markets, bike riding, running, going out to eat, driving around, kayaking, and paddle boarding.

I took a lot of pictures of food of course. The Stowe Farmers’ Market is one of the best I’ve seen in New England and the people are really nice! If you’re ever up there, you should go.

Finally, I’m sure everyone has heard a lot about Hurricane Irene and have experienced it as well. Vermont and the people that live there are going through a tough time dealing with the large amount of damage it has caused, so encourage you to reach out and help by clicking on this link. Anything helps!

Thanks for listening and reading, next blog post I’ll finally get to show you one of the weddings I shot back in July

Hey everyone!

Just a quick post! I took a few photos the other day while at the North Beach festival. It was a beautiful day to be out and about in the city and I had a nice time. The festival was packed and there were all kinds of arts and crafts, beer lawns, and food of course! North Beach is definitely one of my favorite areas to stroll around when I’m in the city and it’s also one of my favorite places to eat (I love Italian food, who doesn’t?). I snapped a few photos while I walked around and got some lunch too.

Hi Everyone!
It’s been way too long since my last post, I apologize. I’ve been pretty busy between my internship, my part time job, finding stylists for my own shoots and planning on re doing my portfolio. Now I’ve quit said part time job, found a bunch of talented people to work with and have continued to work on my portfolio. Everything is going well. My internship is great, and working with the people there has been really nice! I left my part time so I could work on my photography more and get more photo jobs, it needed to happen. My mom also came to visit the last week in March which was so great! (I definitely cried at the airport). I missed her so much and still do. Even though I had to work a lot we had an awesome week hanging out and I cannot wait to see her again!

Now for some photos….

This was from when my mom and I went up to wine country. It was a warm, gorgeous day and the countryside was beautiful. More importantly I have the wonderful memory of sharing that day with my favorite person. I love you mom.

A week before my mom came it had rained for at least 10 days straight here.

A couple self portraits I did one nice night while out on the deck.

On Saturday I did a shoot with Alyssa Terry, who cooked and styled the food. It was a great time and the food was delicious, haha. I am very excited about these images and can’t wait to work with Alyssa again!

Last but not least, a sunset over San Francisco. My best friend’s brother was in town and we hung out for a day going all over the city and we ended up at the top of Coit tower just in time for a great view and beautiful light.
