Hi All,

As mentioned in my last post, I’ve been working on a new project with my friend and fellow artist, Ashley Herrin. Our project is called t.e.l.l. New England and it will be a quarterly publication capturing the essence of living local in New England. I’m very excited about this and can’t wait to show you more once things get fully developed. Here’s another sneak peek from a shoot involving that project at Heritage Farm in Sanbornton, NH. Family owned for generations, and still going strong..not to mention some of the kindest people I’ve met. If you ever get a chance to go there, talk to Matt or Rachel and you’ll see what I mean. They are incredibly welcoming and love to talk about the history and process of maple production, among other things, on the farm.

Hi All,

I’m pleased to show you a little sneak peek of something I’ve been working on. I have started a new project alongside my friend Ashley Herrin, an amazing graphic designer and photographer. Together we teamed up to create this lifestyle shoot involving friends, food, and a warm campfire. Ice Cream Sandwiches | NH Food and Lifestyle Photographer

It’s March! And maybe you aren’t thinking about Summery food just yet, but what better time to shoot ice cream than outside in the winter? Sounds kind of crazy, I know, but it’s easier to shoot when it doesn’t melt as fast. It was beautiful out when I shot this, and guess what, the ice cream still melted…but I’m pretty proud of these shots and I feel like I’m really starting to hone in on a ‘style’ that feels right to me. I perused the web pages for a recipe and sort of grabbed ideas from a few different ones (there’s so many great ones out there!). Ice cream is my downfall..along with chocolate of course. These were so good! Hope you’re hungry

Hi All,

It’s March 1st, that much closer to spring! If you’re from New England, you may be like me, and tired of this gray season. Don’t get me wrong, I love how beautiful it looks when it snows, but Summer is my season and I’m ready.

I wanted to put a little color in your Winter day with one of my favorite fruits…blood..or Moro oranges. They are real gems and they taste fantastic. I wanted to shoot something colorful and healthy, so I found this great little recipe online and tried it out for myself.

What will you be doing come spring? I’m getting excited to start gardening again and kicking off wedding season.

Monthly Blog Circle | NH Food and Lifestyle Photographer

Hi everyone,

Last year I became part of a blog circle with other New Hampshire photographers, incase you’re new here or don’t remember…and we’ve recently started back up with blog posts again! This month the theme for all of us is “A Day in the Life”. A lot of my days are spent at my part-time job right now, and that’s not something I really wanted to photograph…haha.. but when I have days off I try to get outside and do something or see my friends or shoot some personal work (food!!), so I decided to capture a nice day of snowshoeing around where I live. I’m incredibly lucky to have all the snowmobile trails right by my house. They go all through the power lines but also branch off into the woods, which I love. This was a few days after the big blizzard we just had and it was so nice out! I’m glad my mom and I got to do this.

Then, later today I really wanted to shoot some food so I decided on a pizza. I have a lot more photos from that shoot, but I’m saving them for something else coming up soon

“Galentines” Girls Night | New Hampshire Food and Lifestyle Photographer

Happy February everyone!

For a few weeks I had plans to shoot something for Valentine’s Day, but didn’t want to do do the typical cliche couple photos..so I decided to shoot a “Galentines” Party (Parks & Rec fans know the term) or you could call it a girls night. Valentine’s can be about celebrating your significant other, but it can also be about celebrating the people you love too…like your friends and family etc…

I have some incredible friends who are always there to help me out and up for a good time, so they were pretty excited to shoot this. Sadly I’m going to need to start finding some new models but I love doing this with these people!

I also want to mention a few local vendors that contributed to the shoot. A big thanks goes out to Gus & Ruby Letterpress in Portsmouth, NH. They are responsible for the fantastic greeting cards, bags, decorations, etc. If you are ever in Portsmouth you have to check them out!

Secondly I acquired some of New England Cupcakery’s amazing cupcakes. Every flavor I’ve had has been SO good. Go pick some up! Show some local love!

Hearty Spinach and Chickpea Soup | NH Food and Lifestyle Photographer

Hi Everyone,

I really want to be shooting more this year and this is the start! It’s the beginning of updating my portfolio and working toward a few different things. For one, I’ve begun to learn a bit more about food styling. I’ve observed little tricks and quick things that food stylists do on shoots, but in the last few weeks I was able to actually assist some one which was great. For my food photography, styling is very important. I think I have a good eye and taste for what looks right, and to be able to do some basic styling on my own will be a great thing for me to have when I’m working on my own (and on a small budget).

Now that I have a little more free time, I’m going to use it wisely. I’ve set a bunch of goals for this year and hope to complete them. Yesterday I chose a soup to try to make and photograph and I think the result was pretty decent, and tasty!

I got the recipe out of one of my favorite cook books: Power Foods from the editors of Whole Living Magazine. It’s all very healthy but delicious!

Another Year | New Hampshire Food and Lifestyle Photographer

Hi All,

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe another year has gone by. Every year seems to pass faster than the last one as more and more opportunities arrive and I get busier and busier. I wanted to post some photos from 2012 that I hadn’t shown on here yet and put a little color into the cold winter we are experiencing right now.

2012 brought lots and lots of weddings! I was able to assist a few new photographers this year and I learned a ton from each of them. I was also able to get a few shoots in for different companies and restaurants which was very exciting. I already have a bunch of weddings booked for this year as well as a clearer vision of the direction I’d like my photography and vision to go. I am looking forward to all that 2013 will bring and I hope I will be blessed with as much beauty, experiences, and have as much of a blast as I did last year! (Hopefully more traveling too!)

The following photographs were taken from weddings I assisted with Joe DiMattia, Melanie Haney, and Russell Caron. Huge thanks to them for having me as a second shooter! Hopefully more to come!

The food photography is from a shoot I did for Kashmir Indian Restaurant in Salem, NH. If you love indian food, theirs was really good! Go check it out!

A Beautiful Mess | NH Food & Lifestyle Photographer

A little over a month ago I was doing a lot of brainstorming, thanks to my bosses at my internship, and came up with the idea to do a little lifestyle shoot with people outside and making food and hot drinks with people laughing and having fun outside. I am currently trying to work on doing more lifestyle shoots with food to involve a more human element and feeling into the photographs. While I still have a lot to work on when it comes to this, I think I did pretty well and we all had a lot of fun doing it despite the cold weather. I’m learning a lot by doing this, and that’s the whole point. My pictures and idea may not have gone the exact way I had planned, but it’s important to work through and realize what could have been done different and what I can work on for next time. Big shout out to my friends and family who helped me put this day together. I definitely took on a bit too much at once but it was fantastic to see how my friends were willing to get together and help me in any way they could. I’m really grateful to have people like that in my life (offering them food and booze probably helps ). The following photos are from the day. I hope you enjoy them and I hope to have more shoots like this planned out soon!

Chasing The Dream | NH Food Photographer

Hi All,

While you’ve seen me post a lot of wedding photography on here, which I enjoy, I also pride myself on being a food photographer, and it’s something you’ll be seeing more of in months to come. Food is something I enjoy because you can create a scene and a feeling by playing with composition, color, and texture. Food doesn’t talk back either Someday I’d love to shoot for magazines and cookbooks. That’s the dream!

A few weeks ago I was invited to shoot the Celebrity Chef Gala in Boston. It was a beautiful event at the incredible Mandarin Oriental Hotel and it featured top chefs from some of Boston’s best restaurants! It was an honor to be there and photograph some beautiful (and delicious) food. The chefs were great and I would love to be able to visit their restaurants sometime soon!

Lastly, one of my favorite parts of the wedding is when I get to see the cakes! And this year, there were so many great ones! I decided to put together all of the cakes from my weddings this year and show you! They are all really creative, fun, and equally delicious. Here’s to the weddings of 2012 and I hope the next wedding season will be just as fun and eventful!
