I’m pleased to show you a little sneak peek of something I’ve been working on. I have started a new project alongside my friend Ashley Herrin, an amazing graphic designer and photographer. Together we teamed up to create this lifestyle shoot involving friends, food, and a warm campfire. I’m not going to say too much yet…but the rest of these are going to involve something bigger which I cannot wait to show everyone! Keep an eye out. We’ve got a lot coming your way…

Last year I became part of a blog circle with other New Hampshire photographers, incase you’re new here or don’t remember…and we’ve recently started back up with blog posts again! This month the theme for all of us is “A Day in the Life”. A lot of my days are spent at my part-time job right now, and that’s not something I really wanted to photograph…haha.. but when I have days off I try to get outside and do something or see my friends or shoot some personal work (food!!), so I decided to capture a nice day of snowshoeing around where I live. I’m incredibly lucky to have all the snowmobile trails right by my house. They go all through the power lines but also branch off into the woods, which I love. This was a few days after the big blizzard we just had and it was so nice out! I’m glad my mom and I got to do this.

Then, later today I really wanted to shoot some food so I decided on a pizza. I have a lot more photos from that shoot, but I’m saving them for something else coming up soon

Here I have for you a couple who I’ve known for a few years now. They got engaged a few months back and asked me to shoot their photos! I was really excited about this, Erica’s sister Jamie is one of my best friends (you’ve seen photos of her before) and we stayed with Erica and Joe on our trip to Southern Cali. Erica and Joe are both in graduate school to become veterinarians and are one of the best couples I know! They are really fun and are up for anything, which was great since we didn’t get the nicest weather, but I think we all still had a fun time and got to enjoy a lot of nice scenery in Northern New Hampshire. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in 2013!

The first day was with my friend Alyssa. We’ve been friends since age 3 and grew up together. We have gone through so much and it’s been nice to have some one who’s been there my whole life and I’m so grateful that we’ve stayed friends through the years. We drove down some pretty dirt roads in Henniker and stopped to take pictures. It was so nice to be able to catch up with her and I hope I get to see her again before I go back to California!

Yesterday I was so happy because it started snowing finally. There hasn’t been much snow at all yet where I live and I wanted to get some for a white Christmas and I wanted it before I left for California because it doesn’t snow in San Francisco. I talked to my friend Ally, who you’ve seen in many of my photos, and decided we should shoot before it stops snowing. Well I went to her house and ended up getting distracted talking haha but we went out around dusk and the lighting was really dark and cold, which I thought made it more interesting. It was literally dark and cold…freezing actually, but it was worth it!

I was feeling really down about all this today until I read through some of my fellow Hallmark Alumni’s photo blogs. I really miss being surrounded by all those wonderfully talented people. Reading through theirs and my own reminded me again of why I am doing this and inspired me once again to do what I’ve always loved to do. I just need to keep going.

Now onto some recent photos.
The first few are from the last week or so in Cali. I visited Muir woods and Sausalito which were really beautiful. I also got to work a few days at my internship which went really well and I think it’s going to be a great experience. The people are really fun and welcoming and I hope that I will be a good intern

The next photos are from last week, a few days after I came home. My mom wanted to get our photo for the Christmas cards done and my brothers wanted me to take some photos of the snow. Now..this snow is man made. My brother Austin built a snow maker, something he’s been perfecting and working on for the last few years. This year he also made a rope tow so there’s a small ski hill in the back yard. It hasn’t snowed for real yet here so it’s kind of funny to have a big patch of snow in the back.

Over the weekend I went up to the Lake Tahoe area with my Aunt and Uncle. They have a cabin up there and go to it every weekend in the winter. They needed to go up to build their snow tunnel for the walkway to the cabin (The snow gets up to 5 feet or more up there, something I’ve never experienced). So we drove up and there was about 6 inches of snow, which was exciting. All the cabins up there are so unique and cozy! It was really fun. We did a few short hikes and saw some amazing views and sunsets. It’s such a beautiful area. The city is a lot of fun but there’s nothing like being surrounded by trees and breathing the mountain air. I’m so happy I grew up in the woods back in New England and have been going camping since I was a kid. It’s a part of me and it’s something I truly appreciate.
