What a special day this was! 

Julieann and Jay are two really amazing people. I have known Julieann since I was in elementary school, though we didn’t really connect until we were both out of college and living in the same area. We realized we had a lot of the same interests, mostly revolving around nature somehow. Julieann has incredible spirit and is filled with so much knowledge and curiosity. I always learn something new after being with her. She is a music therapist and you should definitely check out her album! (can you guess who took the photos? hehe). She is also a nutritional therapist, is a Lyme warrior, and has hiked the Appalachian trail. Her and Jay actually hiked the trail at the same time, had mutual friends along the way, and yet never met while on it! The universe’s timing is always a funny thing. Jay is a true compliment to Julieann. While I don’t know him as well, they seem to balance each other’s energy and fuel the curiosity they each have about their surroundings and world. Their first hike together was Mt. Kearsarge and it was only fitting that it was their wedding spot. Julieann called me up a few days prior asking if I might be free to do photos for this. I’m SO ecstatic that I was because this is something that I did not want to miss! Being able to run around outside, having fun, laughing, being with friends, witnessing love in such a pure way, while being able to capture it and immortalize the memories…AND this is my job…so much gratitude. If there ever were a perfect type of wedding I want to capture, this is it!

We weren’t sure how hiking would be that day because it was a few days before the 4th of July and the days had been so hot. As I mentioned before, Julieann is a Lyme warrior – or someone who is living with chronic Lyme disease. (see an article I photographed for here about Lyme)  Energy and joint pain can hinder a lot of activities for those living with Lyme but truly everything came together on this day! We were all feeling good and the temperatures up the mountain were nicer and closer to 70. Julieann had gone to her friend’s to pick through their closet in search of a dress and couldn’t decide so she brought all 3! Her friend also made the bouquet and flower crown – amazing. Our kindergarten guidance counselor, Glen Berger, was there to officiate. I love to see how a community can come together to pull something off and this was incredible.

We had so much fun taking photos in different spots, and what blew us away was that the clouds and the sun put on a show for us as well. Such luck! I really couldn’t wait to share these images after I took a look at them on my computer that night!

I’m so happy about this day and these images, and so happy for my friends!
