Summer in Maine – New England Lifestyle Photographer

It’s been one busy summer! I’ve put blogging on the back burner a bit, but my goal and hope is to start it up again now that things are slowing down a bit. I have a ton of great weddings, food shoots, and more down the pipeline that I am excited to share with everyone!

To start, I wanted to post about some trips I took in Maine, which is a quintessential part of New England summers, in my opinion! There’s just something about the quaint, historic towns, the tall pine trees that drop off to gray cliffs and waves, and sunrises and sunsets over the sea.

My good friend Jamie and I took a quick 3 day trip up to Brooksville, Maine as a fun girls getaway. We didn’t know anything about the area but our AirBnB was a small cabin on an organic farm that had a bakery, so with that description, we were sold immediately! When we arrived it felt as though time changed, we became more relaxed and we were greeted with a pizza at the door. After unpacking and walking the grounds a bit, we realized that we were pretty close to heaven and also had landed on a photographer’s paradise. It was truly magical! We were able to explore the surrounding area, eat some of the bakery’s delicious pastries, find cute farms and animals, get up at sunrise, play some ukulele, and catch up on everything going on in our lives. We had some great laughs and talks and even got to take a rowboat around some islands to see some seals! It was truly a perfect little getaway!

About 4 years ago, my siblings and I started taking trips up to the Acadia area with my Dad and Step Mom and it has become a tradition that we look forward to every year.  We had amazing weather and were able to explore around Bar Harbor, do a night hike for sunrise up Cadillac Mountain, cook some great food, drink some great drinks, and go to all our favorite spots in the park!
